Dependants Residency Permit (Wife/Husband/Children)

Through this service, employers can request the issuance of residence permits for their employees' dependents (spouse and children up to the age of 24).

Process Description

  1. Click here to log in to the LMRA EMS system and start the process of applying for a new residency permit for the employees' dependents.
  2. Click on New Work Permit folder, and then click on New Expatriate Permit.
    Choose the Work Visa Type and enter the required data in the designated fields. Permit period chosen should match the period appearing in the employment contract.
  3. Once you submit the application – An application ID will be issued.
  4. Print the application confirmation.
  5. You can check the application status by:
    • Logging on to the EMS system.
    • Calling LMRA’s Contact Centre on +973 17506055.
  6. After receiving the approval on the new work permit, pay the fees through the EMS system or visit one of the accredited banks.
  7. Print the work permit from the EMS system.
  8. If the expatriate employee, you applied for is out of the Kingdom of Bahrain then the Resident Permit will be printed at the concerned counter at the airport. If the expatriate employee you applied for is residing in the Kingdom of Bahrain, then you will need to print the Resident Permit via Kingdom of Bahrain's National Portal or you can contact 8000 8001.

Dependant's passport Copy
The passport should have all the information and alterations or updates and First Name in addition to Father or Family must be written on the 1st page of the passport in all Employment/Dependant Applications. As well as the page that states the father or spouse’s name (for Indian and Pakistani) and the page that contains the old passport number.
The passport must be valid for at least 6 months, but it is highly recommended to have it valid for at least 2 years before applying.
Dependants' birth certificate (in Arabic or English) Copy
Certificate should be attested by the embassy of the employee's country in the Kingdom of Bahrain and by the Ministry of foreign affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain (MOFA)
Passport of the expatriate employee wife/Husband Copy
Dependants Identity Card, if available Copy
Marriage certificate in Arabic or English Copy
The certificate should be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) (applicable to Arab nationalities; this includes non-Arab nationals if the husband's/Wife's name in the husband's/Wife's passport is not mentioned) Excluding Indian and Pakistani passport Husband/Wife name must be written in the passport.
  • For children accompanying their working mother/ Father: No objection letter from the dependant's father/mother.
  • If the parents are divorced, then a divorce certificate and a verdict proving custody of the dependant’s is required
  • Death certificate if one of the spouses’ is dead.
Copy
The letter or certificate should be attested Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Bahraini Embassy in the native country of the expatriate employee.
For private sector: Latest paid electricity bill
  • If the electricity is not your responsibility (for example: shops in Malls, or electricity paid by the landlord), you will need to attach the lease contract as proof.
Copy
  • 3 months should not have elapsed from the electricity bill’s issue date.
  • Supply address in the bill must match the CR’s address.
  • Should not be a disconnection notice.
