Resolution (68) for the year 2019 Regarding the Wages Protection System
The Minister of Labour
Every employer shall commit to paying the wages of his employees in accordance to the Wages Protection System. and that is through any of the payment methods provided by the licensees from the Central Bank of Bahrain.
The licensees must disclose the information to the Labour Market Regulatory Authority
The provisions of this resolution shall be gradually applied on all employers, in accordance to the phases determined by a decree from the Minister.
Resolution (1) of 2019 Regarding the Implementation of the Wages Protection Scheme
Labour Market Regulatory Authority Chairman
A system shall be established in the Labour Market Regulatory Authority that consists of an electronic database that ensures overseeing the employer's commitment to pay the wages of his employees.
The Authority commits to preserving the confidentiality of this database and may not disclose it except within the legally established limits or in accordance with this Resolution.
Those licensed by the Central Bank of Bahrain must disclose the Wages Protection System related information to the Labour Market Regulation Authority.
Resolution (2) for the year 2019 To Amend Some Articles of Resolution (76) for the year 2008 Regarding Organizing Work Permits of Foreign Workers Other Than House Servants

The following texts shall replace article (2) item (8) That it is not proven through the Wages Protection Scheme or any other method of proof, that the employer had failed to fulfill the rights of the workers or had abused them.
The following texts shall replace article (2) article (14): The employer should commit to registering and updating his information, the information of his establishment, and the information of his employees in a regular and continuous manner in the Authority's database as per the practiced regulations of the Authority regarding that matter or whenever he is requested to do so.
A new item numbered (9) shall be added to article (7) paying his worker's wages in accordance to resolution (68) for the year 2019 regarding the Wages Protection System.
Article (13) item (c): c- The work permit issued to the employer shall lose one of its issue conditions in case he fails to pay the wage of his worker.
Resolution (22) for the Year 2021 Regarding the Stages of Implementing the Wages Protection System
The Minister of Labour
Every employer shall commit to paying the wages of his employees via any payment methods provided by those licensed by the Central Bank of Bahrain, and in accordance to the following stages:
Stage One: Includes employers with (500) employees or more, this stage shall start on the first of May 2021.
Stage Two: Includes employers with (50 - 499) employees, this stage shall start on the first of September 2021.
Stage Three: Includes employers with (1 - 49) employees, this stage shall start on the first of January 2022.
The employers shall be given a grace period of six months at each stage that starts from the date of it being applied on them, where no violations regarding the implementation of this resolution shall be issued to them whenever they face any practical hardships that prevents them from registering in the Wages Protection System on the mentioned dates.
Resolution (23) for the Year 2021 Regarding Adding a Paragraph to the Second Article of Resolution (68) for the Year 2019 Regarding the Wages Protection Scheme

A new article shall be added to the Second Article of Resolution (68) for the year 2019, regarding the Wages Protection Scheme as follows: The payment of house maid wages and those equivalent shall be optional via the Wages Protection Scheme, until the minister promulgates a decree to set a specific stage for them.
